MEET Deb Smith
KKO Founder
Support Coordinator & Psychosocial Recovery Coach
Deb uses her personal lived experience and 15 years employed in the mental health industry to aid others in their journey to recovery, and with 3 neurodiverse children, she also understands the challenges disabilities affect the entire family unit. As a country girl she knows first hand the challenges of finding the right services in rural community and relocating has discovered that multuple choices of supports does not mean quality follows.
Special interests: Complex mental health, Suicide interevent/prevention, ASD and family units.
Hobbies: Cars, Suncatchers, Creativity, Crystals and coffee!
Meet Shirreen Morgan
Support Coordinator
Shirreen uses her communication skills and her long history of customer service to connect with people in the community. She has worked in the disability sector as both support worker and support coordinator and works closely with people to reach their goals and is a great advocate. She knows first hand the challenges that individuals and families face when trying to navigate services in the country. She was raised on the land and has lived in rural communities all her life.
Special Interests: Mental Health & Wellbeing, ABI, Disabilities & Families connections.
Hobbies: Sewing/patchwork Crocheting and other crafts. Music/Karaoke
Meet John Bushell
Support Coordinator /Psychosocial Recovery Coach
John is experienced in helping people in their recovery journey, having worked as a support worker, support coordinator and psychosocial recovery coach. John grew up in rural communities in the Riverina and NSW North Coast before joining the air force. He served in the RAAF as a navigator then in business managing a successful hydraulics systems company in Indonesia. After selling the business in Indonesia John returned to Australia to study for a Diploma of Counselling and a Certificate IV in Mental Health before finding work in the mental health sector in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. John enjoys helping people to live their best life through facilitating full engagement with their NDIS plan.
Special interests: Recovery Oriented Practice, Gaining Optimal Benefit from your NDIS Plan.
Hobbies: Aircraft especially Warbirds, RAAF Association, Toastmasters, Steam Railways.
